Boating in Toronto Harbour

Anyone wishing to operate a powered vessel in Toronto Harbour is required to have a Power Vessel Operator’s Permit (often called a Toronto Harbour Licence). Student must have Pleasure Craft Operator Card or other Transport Canada recognized competency prior to taking this course.

Powered Vessel Operator Permit Course

Get your permit same day! BoaterSkills.ca offers a 2.5 hour PVOP course on Tuesday evenings (beginning April 2019) at our Recreational Boater Training Centre, Port Credit Harbour Marina. Course includes a written test and a practical driving test in a small craft with outboard motor (provided). Minimum age: 14 years

Off-site Testing

Arrangements can be made for testing off-site at marinas in the Greater Toronto Area with a minimum of eight (8) students. Registrants must provide a classroom. Please Contact us for details on how to schedule a private off-site course at your marina.
 

Register or Renew a Permit (CLICK HERE)

Once you have received your permanent card, register your new permit number online with Ports Toronto in order to receive renewal notices for the new year.
