The Power Vessel Operator’s Permit course (Harbour Permit) and exam is now online. Students must each have a separate device, reliable internet connection, webcam and microphone.
The practical test session is in-person at a Toronto area location and scheduled separately from your online course. We provide the boat and a PFD for you. This is a basic test of your ability to remain in control of a powered vessel in close quarters. Duration: approximately 10 minutes.

NOTE: Temporary Harbour permits are issued by the examiner following successful completion of your online exam. Students must complete the practical test with us before the end of the boating season in order to renew your permit for the following season. Questions: email@example.com
♦ Students registering for this PVOP course must be at least 14 years old and have a Pleasure Craft Operator Card or other Transport Canada accepted form of competency to operate the boat.

Practical Test Session COVID-19 Safety Protocols (test delayed until further notice)
- Maximum 4 students on the dock per TEST session
- COVID-19 survey completed by students before entry
- Masks worn by everyone (including instructor)
- Social distancing required of 6 ft/2m
- Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes available on site.
